Anniversary Surprise for Wife With MS Shows the Strength of Love
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is not an easy diagnosis. Those diagnosed and their loved ones are greatly impacted, and life is forever changed.
But MS is not a death sentence. It doesn’t mean the end of you as a person, or the end of the person you love. Love can conquer anything, and that’s exactly what Carl Gilbertson showed his wife of 10 years for their anniversary.
As a surprise for his wife, Laura, Carl had a local choir perform Bruno Mars’ hit “Just the Way You Are" to celebrate their love.
“When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change, 'cause you're amazing just the way you are," the choir sings, as an emotional Laura watches.
The moving performance attracts quite an audience, who no doubt could feel the love and emotion felt by the couple.
“If perfect's what you're searching for, then just stay the same," rings out through the crowd as Carl wipes his wife’s tears.
As the song comes to an end, two children bring out a banner reading “Happy Anniversary, Laura," with a photo of her beaming on their wedding day.
As the couple embraces at the end of the video, we’re reminded just how strong love is. MS is a tough adversary to face, but love is much, much stronger.
